Jaden Smith Launches Food Truck “Movement” for the Homeless

At a very young age, Jaden Smith is proving his will to make a positive impact within local communities.

The young musician and actor has set up a free, vegan food truck for the homeless called, “I Love You Restaurant.”

Jaden launched the truck yesterday — (7 July 2019), to celebrate his birthday — on Skid Row, an area in Downtown Los Angeles containing one of the United States’ largest homeless populations.

In his Instagram post, Jaden announced it was the first of many.

“The @ILoveYouRestaurant Is A Movement That Is All About Giving People What They Deserve, Healthy, Vegan Food For Free,” he wrote in his caption. “Today We Launched Our First One Day Food Truck Pop-Up in Downtown LA. Keep A Look Out Because This Is The First Of Many #JADENinc”

The truck, which served a menu of exclusively vegan food — “I Love You Bowls” — seemed to be a great success, seeing streams of homeless people pick up their free healthy meal.

This isn’t the first time Jaden has shown his commitment to philanthropy. He also owns Just Water, a company which aims to make a cheap, water filtration system available in poorer areas.

Through Just Water, Jaden recently led an initiative called “Water Box,” a mobile water filtration system used to provide clean water to residents of Flint, Michigan who were suffering from the 5-year water contamination crisis.
